Over the course of four decades, Charles Atlas documented Merce Cunningham’s choreography through dozens of radically innovative films, and now, thanks to footage recently rediscovered by the Cunningham Trust, audiences will see another. This Thursday, February 7, at Electronic Arts Intermix, Atlas will unveil his newly completed film of Exchange (1978), a work for 12 dancers with a backdrop and costumes by Jasper Johns and music by David Tudor. Two shorter Atlas films — More Joints (1972) and Nevada (1973) — will be screened before Exchange‘s premiere, and Atlas will speak at the event about his collaboration with Cunningham. Tickets cost just $7 and can be reserved by writing to rsvp@eai.org. Hurry, though: I hear they’re selling fast.

Visit Electronic Arts Intermix’s website to read more about the screening.
